The Tour
In this Coromandel Cathedral Cove Experience tour, we visit an extraordinary volcanic coastline by boat, an awesome blow-hole and a sea cave – truly a magical experience.
Leaving Auckland City, we drive in comfort in a late model Mercedes Benz through rolling farmland and hilly bush-clad hills across the spine of the Coromandel Peninsular to the popular holiday destination of Tairua where our first stop before heading North to the beautiful beach of Hahei.
Boarding a 10 seater open zodiac, the Hahei Explorer tour is an hour long, travels up to 14kms, and takes you into coastal islands of the marine reserve, reefs, massive sea caves and bays, including the world famous Cathedral Cove. The magnificence of this natural volcanic scenery is legendary and the approach by sea, combined with an insightful yet relaxed commentary further enhances the experience. Seating only ten passengers, this small boat tour caters for all age groups and is an amazing trip.
Here we will have lunch at a local café.
There are countless photographic opportunities. One of the leading attractions of this extraordinary volcanic coastline is, when the tide is right, the tour visits an awesome blow-hole, venturing through a sea cave underground into a gigantic rock cylinder 80 feet high – truly a magical place!
After the excitement of the Explorer, we depart Hahei for our return trip to Hot Water Beach where you can dig your own hot water bath!
You have the opportunity to walk down to Cathedral Cove, Hahei Beach or explore Cooks Beach (depending on your fitness, we cater for every one).
PLEASE NOTE
The Tour all depends on the tide at Hot Water beach, so we amends the order of the tour to accommodate this – for example some times we visit Hot Water Beach in the morning or maybe it will be our last stop of the day. The tour is flexible – so you get to experience every thing at the best possible time.
